Ellendale Pool is a stunning water hole naturally formed along the picturesque Greenough River. Located near the historic town of Greenough, it is surrounded by magnificent gum trees and a rocky gorge, and is just 45km or 40 minutes drive south east of Geraldton.

On your way visit the Walkaway Station Museum, featuring an extensive collection of railway artefacts (check opening times with the Geraldton Visitor Centre). Make your way past the impressive wind turbines at the Walkaway Wind Farm and then arrive at Ellendale Pool. It is the ideal picnic or camping location.
Interpretive signs celebrate the importance the pool has played in Aboriginal and European history. This location is also part of the Yamaji Drive Trail.
Public facilities and barbeques are provided. Camping is permitted at a fee.
A visit to nearby Greenough is also worthwhile to see numerous well preserved historic buildings within the town. Ellendale and Greenough are a perfect stopover on your way to the state's north.
Ellendale Pool is a four and a half hour drive north of Perth and is one of the recommended stops on the Greenough Tourist Drive.
